Indigenous communities and businesses in Ontario can now apply for funding through the Regional Partnership Grant (RPG), part of the province's Indigenous Economic Development Fund. The RPG aims to improve access to skills training and promote sustainable employment and business development among Indigenous people. The Regional Partnership Grant (RPG) requires applicants to be a Political Territorial Organization (PTO), Tribal Council, First Nations community, Métis community, Indigenous business, or Indigenous organization recognized by the Province of Ontario. To be eligible for the RPG, the applicant must apply in partnership with one or more of the following: Political Territorial Organization (PTO) in Ontario, Tribal Council in Ontario, First Nations community in Ontario, Métis community in Ontario, Indigenous business in Ontario, Indigenous organization recognized by the Province of Ontario, or a non-Indigenous business and/or organization. The deadline for applications is March 7, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. EST. All projects will go through a competitive process for approval. To apply for the Regional Partnership Grant (RPG), applicants must access the Transfer Payment Ontario system, a platform for funding opportunities offered by the Ontario government. To access the system, organizations must register or join their registered organization, which requires a Canada Revenue Agency Business Number, legal and operating names, and contact information for at least two organization members. Once registered, applicants can view available funding opportunities, submit funding requests, and track their submissions.
