JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Business Advisor is accountable to provide leadership and direction to a portfolio of projects or work functions. As a member of SaskPower’s management team, this position is responsible for the effective utilization of people, material, financial resources and human capital in order to manage, coordinate and lead major projects/departmental work functions from start to finish; ensuring alignment with departmental and corporate strategic goals and objectives.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Provide leadership and support to a team, including SaskPower and other Crowns/Government agencies related to Indigenous procurement
• Develop an Indigenous Procurement strategy and communicate both within SaskPower and externally
• Establish goals and measures of success related to Indigenous Procurement, and achieve key corporate metrics
• Communicate Indigenous Procurement strategies, plans, goals and measures to SaskPower leaders and external stakeholders
• Organize and facilitate Indigenous procurement/vendor events and Indigenous Crown Collaboration sessions
• Identify vendor development opportunities and work collaboratively with operational leaders to ensure SaskPower’s goals are met
• Represent SaskPower’s Indigenous Procurement program broadly
• Build and nurture positive relationships with Indigenous vendors that are effective and sustainable
• Provide leadership and advice to SaskPower on Indigenous procurement matters.
• Provide consultation/mediation to create successful outcome/resolve disputes
• Support corporate CCAB (Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business) PAR Gold team
• Represent company on matters both internal and external to the corporation

• Other related duties as assigned
• In-province travel is required
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Engineering or other related equivalent AND/OR;
• Related professional designation(s) and/or certification(s) related to Procurement or Strategic Supply Chain Management or Indigenous Business Development AND/OR;
• Seven (7) years of related experience in a variety of project roles including managing, leading and coordinating major projects
• Ability to influence, persuade, and build relationships at all levels
• Ability to strategize, plan and organize
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and negotiation skills
• Results oriented thinker, with the ability to influence and manage complex and confidential issues with sensitivity and professionalism
• Strong connections to Indigenous vendors/communities in SK considered as asset
• Ability to apply a strategic focus to area of responsibility and manage expectations in a continually changing environment.
• Ability to foster a culture focused on safety, innovation and teamwork
• Demonstrated skill in SaskPower’s competencies
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism

A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered
